We are already in winter, a season in which colds and flu tend to proliferate due to the cold. This week we want to give you some tips to protect children from these low temperatures.
Do not prevent them from playing outside. Even if we are worried about them getting sick, we should not prevent them from going outdoors, in fact, this improves the child’s adaptability to the cold.
Wrap them well. There are parts of the body that are more sensitive to cold, for example, the feet and ears, so they should always be well wrapped. On the other hand, it is advisable for the child to wear several layers of clothing, even if thin.
Take care of your diet. A good diet will increase their defenses, for this to happen they must eat a balanced diet and get all the nutrients they need to have a fit and effective immune system. It is advisable to increase the portions of vegetables and fruits, especially citrus fruits rich in vitamins A and C.
Take care of your drinks. During these months we will not give them cold drinks, always at room temperature. We will also provide broths, hot drinks and natural juices.
They must be vaccinated. It is very important to comply with the child’s vaccination schedule, as this will prevent infectious diseases that are very typical during this time of the year, such as measles or chickenpox.
Careful while they sleep. When they sleep and in general, the clothes worn by the child should be in accordance with the temperature of the room, i.e., if the room is heated we should not put thick pajamas. Also, with babies under one year of age, it is recommended that the room temperature does not exceed 24 degrees Celsius.
